Buildings are among the largest energy consumers globally, playing a critical role in our comfort, health, and environmental footprint. Yet, managing their systems efficiently remains a challenge due to inconsistent and labour-intensive data formats.
The Brick by Brick challenge aims to transform this landscape by automating building data classification using the Brick schema – a standardised metadata framework. This innovation has the potential to make smart building technology scalable, cost-effective, and accessible, helping us combat climate change.
Participants will classify time-series data from IoT devices across three anonymised Australian buildings, organising information into categories based on the Brick schema. The goal is to streamline data management and foster smarter, greener buildings.
