Geelong Electric Homes Program, managed by the Geelong Sustainability Group

The Geelong Electric Homes Program 2023 supports the region’s transition away from gas. It is a collaborative and coordinated community purchasing program, at scale, across the G21 region (Geelong, Surf Coast, Colac Otway, Golden Plains and Queenscliffe).

This program is delivered in partnership with the City of Greater Geelong and other G21 councils, and RACE for 2030 and focuses on education and information about the various upgrades and installations available to electrify your home. The Electric Homes Program exists to help households save on energy bills and reduce emissions, and takes the worry out of choosing a supplier and quality product by already having selected these through a vigorous qualification process.

The program in 2023 is providing households the opportunity to install and/or upgrade the following:

  • Solar systems
  • Battery systems
  • Heat pump hot water systems
  • Split system heating and cooling
